Major component

 

Screen plate (screen) : made of fine mesh cloth (usually polyester or stainless steel) stretched over the frame, the screen plate is formed by photosensitive plate making technology to form patterned areas (ink penetration) and non-patterned areas (ink blocking).

Scraper (scraper) : used to evenly scrape the ink across the screen plate, so that the ink is transferred to the substrate through the pattern area.

Printing platform: Used to fix the substrate (such as paper, cloth, plastic, etc.) to ensure the accurate printing position.

Inks: Select different types of inks according to the substrate and printing needs (such as water-based ink, solvent-based ink, UV ink, etc.).

Frame and adjustment device: used to fix the screen plate and adjust the distance (mesh distance) between it and the substrate to ensure printing quality.

 

Working principle

 

Preparation: Fix the screen plate on the press, and apply appropriate amount of ink on the screen plate.

Position the substrate: Place the substrate on the printing platform and ensure its accurate position through the positioning device.

Scraping: The operator holds a scraper and evenly squeeges the ink across the screen plate at a certain Angle and pressure, and the ink is transferred to the substrate through the pattern area of the screen plate.

Complete printing: lift the screen plate, remove the substrate, and complete a printing. If multi-color printing is required, the screen plate can be replaced or the color operation can be performed.
